How do your participants Identify?
In the screening for this study we asked about the participant gender identity. Gender identity refers to how a person sees themselves along the spectrum of male or female and may not always align with one's birth sex. People often use many different terms to describe their gender identity. As researchers, we want to create questions about gender identity with response options that feel inclusive to everyone and we are continuing to work on this important effort. We ask these questions in our study because we think it's important to understand any potential ways gender identity may impact employment, education, and mental health in young adulthood.
We currently ask our participants the following questions in order to be inclusive of all identities.
Select the file below for a summary of how young adult participants identify with diverse gender identities! We presented this data in September 2022 at the International Association for Youth Mental Health Conference in Copenhagen!!
